Thought I might share a couple of videos that a friend and I made recently. They're promotional videos for the play that I'm directing at the moment. We have our first public performance this Thursday! (sponsors night)
Please note that these videos do not actually show footage from the play, instead they're filmed versions of scenes that were devised during character development (prior to the beginning of actual rehearsal) in order to build a context for the relationship between the characters in See?
If any of my watchers happen to live in Hamilton New Zealand don't miss out on this truly brilliant play. See? will be open to the public at the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival. On at 7pm from the 20th to the 22nd, then at 11.30am & 8pm on the 23rd of February. A half hour slice of surreal comedy with big ideas and a tongue in the cheek. And it's free! If you'd like a taster have a look at our trailers located here: [link] and here: [link]
See? is an excerpt from Plains. Written by Wellington playwright Harry Meech, Plains won Harry the Playmarket Young Playwright of the Year award in 2009. It has since been developed with the assistance of expert dramaturgs and has enjoyed a single staged reading in Kansas - this will be the first time that the play has hit the stage in New Zealand.
PS/ Sorry it's been a while since I promised a map drawing tutorial - as you can see I've been a bit distracted by my day-job, but it is still coming!
