The Best Thing! was staged as an element of research for a Master of Arts in Theatre. My specific research focus has been the preparation of performers for the delivery of a dynamic physical performance. Prior to dealing with the script, each of the actors involved participated in a Two month training regime during which we explored physical dynamics and developed muscle tone using a system of exercises [devised by myself] founded in the work of 20th and 21st Century theatre practitioners including Jerzy Grotowski, Eugenio Barba, Robert Wilson and Anne Bogart.
